Announcement: Ekstasis Magazine

I'm thrilled to announce that one of my sonnets 'For the Inklings' has just been published in the beautiful and exciting Ekstasis magazine, who have recently become part of the Christianity Today media ecosystem. With the tagline 'Reviving the Christian Imagination' Ekstasis combines significance with beauty to exhibit lots of deeply profound and inspiring poetry and essays

This particular sonnet was written as part of my project 'Poems and Sonnets for the End of Modernity' and explores some of the great challenges and the beautiful work given to us by the Inklings, specifically Owen Barfield, Charles Williams, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. The group's refusal to conform to the academic and creative expectations of their day and their fascination with the stories and legends from other ages, give their work a timelessness, both in beauty and in application. Working hand-in-hand with the inspiration of the Inklings, this sonnet was also inspired by the humbling and surprising experience of raising a tri-lingual child. At the time of writing this my son 2 and a half years old. He understands and is developing speech in English, French and Norwegian. The capacity of young children to learn multiple languages at once has been the subject of many academic studies, and is a cause of great wonder in my own life, having learnt my second language as an adult.

I hope you enjoy reading my poem and checking out the other inspiring content that Ekstasis puts out.
