Blood-Water

There's a dissonance in the rain,
tiny moments of silence interrupted
by repeating aqueous impact,
then running into streams;
the capillary veins to the sea-sky heart,
and out to the artery clouds.
The earth respires in water
and everything can breathe.

  1. I... can't quite articulate why I like this so much. Perhaps it's that it fuses two concepts so well that they become one image; so well-phrased and well-explored, yet so concisely that it feels like a moment that passes like the rain-drops it describes... but it's more than that. It's the feeling I gain from it. I'm not sure what that feeling is, but it's something meaningful. Definitely something I need to read again a few times.
