Announcement: Macrina Magazine

I'm very proud to announce that I have 5 sonnets appearing in issue 6 of Macrina Magazine, who publish great articles of philosophy and theology as well as poetry and fiction. Click here to read my sonnets. In their own words 'Macrina Magazine is an online Christian philosophical journal that offer readers a platform to explore faith, politics and culture critically and creatively.' As such Macrina is a rare, exciting and special space of creative and academic thought and expression, and you should read everything they put out! Check out there great back catalogue of issues here.

The 5 sonnets I have appearing in this issue are from a series I have been writing since the beginning of October entitled 'Poems and Sonnets for the End of Modernity.' At the time of posting I'm up to 72, and counting. The project is being written out of our present situation of lockdowns, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the current polarising nature of partisan politics. It speaks to the breakdown of our socio-cultural and economic super-system and towards a creative re-imagining for the future. They are poems of resistance and of hope. Resistance because they seek to question or undermine principles and divisions presupposed by modernity. Of hope because they seek to imagine new ways of being that light be made possible with the emergence of a new epoch.

It is a project that combines a lot of my different interests and passions, and I would love it if you would read these 5 Sonnets.
